Open since 1988, on the Avenida Brasil in Oporto, the Praia da Luz Restaurant makes the word «sharing» and everything this encompasses, part of its daily life. Sharing time, sharing knowhow and flavours, sharing music, or simply sharing the joy of enjoying the sea breeze, as the sun transforms the sky and the sea. The Praia da Luz has never just been a terrace or a restaurant, but rather a meeting point, a place of sharing, with various concepts gathered in the same place. But more than 25 years of experience is enough time to take the meaning of sharing to a higher level. Having grown and experienced so much within the restaurant business, there was a need to have a more private, more eclectic space that would turn dining into an arena for strengthening relationships.
The new dining room, open since last November, is located higher above the sea, ensuring that the stunning view is even broader and uncluttered. The project to incorporate this space in the existing one, on a decorative as well as an architectural level, was also the result of a sharing of ideas between two excellent professionals, Paulo Lobo and architect Bernardo Brito, who, highlighting the beauty of the landscape, gave the space its very own and cosy identity, where flavours are combined with vision and touch.
The flavours are the responsibility of two renowned chefs - Luís Américo (consultant of this space since 2008) and Renato de Sá (resident) -, whose sharing of ideas has resulted in a magnificent style of cuisine, favouring the sharing of flavours, although there are also several options for individual portions for more intimate meals. The starters are based on a more international and creative cuisine, while the main dishes follow a traditional Portuguese style of cuisine, seen from a modern perspective.
With the sea on the horizon and with the calm required by warmer days, the Praia da Luz Restaurant invites you to share moments with friends, family or business partners, or in the company of the Atlantic.
