The Hayward Gallery in London is hosting a futuristic Afro exhibition, showing an authentic science fiction story, in which all people of colour are transported away from planet Earth and their bodies are made of a mixture of limbs and machine parts, wearing bright, multi-coloured clothes. This is the meeting point of African art, which runs through the veins of 11 contemporary artists, taking the viewer on a journey into the future, but when they return, they come back without a trace of prejudice. More than just the splendour of the art, there is a subliminal message. The costumes used in the works serve to camouflage ethnicity, so that the observer does not create value judgments. The exhibition has been the talk of the world since its debut last month and it is still on show, and very popular for its emotive, futuristic character and effervescent energy.
