The floating platform to be installed in Area 4 of the Rovuma Basin for gas exploration has arrived in Mozambique, the National Petroleum Institute has announced. Similar to a giant ship, 432 metres long, the platform left the shipyards of Samsung’s industrial division in Geoje, South Korea, on November 15, and crossed the Indian Ocean towards the coast of Cabo Delgado, northern Mozambique. The infrastructure will be connected to six wells and extract the gas to a factory on board, where it will undergo the cooling and liquefaction process.
