The biggest
Industry event in Angola saw its 37th edition, this time under the
theme «Disruptive technologies as a
support to the development of the economy». The Luanda International Fair
(FILDA) opened its doors to entrepreneurship July 16-20, dates that
had to be changed due to national mourning for the death of José Eduardo dos
Santos, the former president of Angola. The delay did not prevent its success,
as the event was attended by 630 exhibitors from 15 countries, figures that
exceeded those of the previous year, with the presence of countries such as
Angola, Japan, Germany, Portugal, China, United Kingdom, USA, among many
others. The Arena group, co-organiser of the fair, together with the Ministry
for the Economy and Planning, maintained its preference for the location, with the
fair taking place within the four walls of the Special Economic Zone pavilion,
which is the ‘marketplace’ for major national and international businesses.
FILDA 2022 was marked by the words of the Minister of State for Economic
Coordination, highlighting the growing attractiveness of the Angolan market
and, above all else, its resilience after times of great tension caused by the
pandemic. China, Portugal and the United Kingdom marked their presence once
again in force, although the event was a first for other countries. What is
certain is that, from year to year, the event gains more attendees and greater
business opportunities, as confirmed by publisher PM Media, which for the
second consecutive year also had a stand, presenting its work and Villas&Golfe,
a magazine with a 13-year history in Angola.
