In response to the humanitarian crisis facing Mozambique, two non-governmental organisations, Oikos and Cáritas Portuguesa, have created projects to support the population. The Portuguese government has decided to allocate 250,000 Euros to mitigate the effects of the cholera outbreak and the devastation caused by Cyclone Freddy in the African country. Portugal activated the Rapid Response Instrument for Emergency Actions, managed by the Camões Institute for Cooperation and Language, providing humanitarian aid to its PALOP brother.
