In 2023,
Vacheron Constantin and the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET) entered into a
long-term partnership to preserve and pass on their knowledge and know-how.
Both brands draw on a long history of preserving the knowledge of artistry and
the applied arts. «The pursuit of excellence is a continuous challenge through
which we will never stop learning», says Louis Ferla, Vacheron’s CEO. Max
Hollein, the MET’s executive director, also commented on the partnership: «We
are grateful for their support of the MET’s mission, which is in line with the
long-standing dedication with which this prestigious watch manufacturer
celebrates creativity and preserves artistic traditions».
The «A masterpiece on your wrist» programme offers watch customers the chance to create a unique edition of the Les Cabinotiers watch. Works from the MET’s collection, such as Claude Monet’s Bridge over a Water Lily Pond; Winslow Homer’s Northeaster; Vincent van Gogh’s Wheat Field with Cypresses; and sculptures such as Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ Diana can be admired on the watch’s dial. Vacheron’s commitment to the arts has defined the Maison since its creation in 1755.
