The catwalk was already set up, Nuno Gama only had to
worry about transporting his creations to Belém. With a view over the Tagus
River, the spring/summer 2024 collection was presented at the foot of the MAAT
(Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology) in Lisbon by the brand that
recently celebrated its 30th anniversary.
In the distance, the 25th of April Bridge spanning the river from Lisbon and the south bank. On a lower level, the boats, which were floating on the Tagus at a slower pace, in order to catch a glimpse of the models walking along the riverfront in a straight line. The Luzboa collection was shown to the sound of the GNR orchestra, eager for the official arrival of spring to show itself to the capital (and the world). The sun was overcast – probably because of the Saharan dust that had settled in Portugal for a long weekend –, but it didn’t interfere in any way with the 18 minutes of viewing natural materials combined with pastel colours. Or in observing the contrasting interplay of volumes that justified the shapes. Among more solid and relaxed silhouettes, variations of shades and matt and glossy effects, there were classic suits, tracksuits and swimsuits, while hats also caused a stir, with berets taking centre stage. Like the light nature of the two seasons, lilac, pink and orange were the trending palette, with gold and black contrasting in some of the pieces. Under the motto of sustainability, Luzboa – comprising almost 80 bespoke looks – is a reason to be, to feel, to flourish and to dream again, blessed by the light of Lisbon, Portuguese longing and hope for the future.
