The Dunes Course

A golfing paradise

PMmedia Adv.
Next to the varied natural landscape, beside The Romanos, stand the Luxury Collection Resort and The Westin Resort Costa Navarino. We are in Greece. If you’re looking for a charming spot for a golf holiday, then this is the setting for you. A visit to Greece’s first exclusive golf course, open since 2010, by the sea. The 130-hectare Dunes Course in the town of Messinia was designed by former Ryder Cup captain Bernhard Langer in partnership with European Golf Design. You’ll be enthralled by the spectacular views over the sea and the Sellas River. But you’ll also feel the nature that surrounds you among the olive groves and orchards along the course. The rolling greens, wide fairways and steep bunkers will keep you on your toes. A real challenge.
Par 71, the 18-hole golf course puts fans of the sport to the test. And you should know that, while you play, you can always sample some of the seasonal fruit (if ripe), as the countless fruit trees around you can provide this. And before or after your round, to relax and socialise, you could have lunch at the Flame restaurant, where you can dine on quality steak dishes prepared with locally sourced meat.
Back on the course, the opening hole is difficult and will test your game. But remember, from eight in the morning until sunset, you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy this magnificent location. Close to the sea, the course has a very rich archaeological background – we’re talking about a heritage dating back more than 5,000 years – so it has been designed in such a way as to protect history.
This is another exciting challenge for those who like to play golf. The playing areas are generous and the sea breeze can be felt throughout the course. The stunning, shimmering ocean makes you eager to return.
