Luís Alegria is the winner of the Portugal Speed Classic 1300 Championship (Campeonato Portugal Velocidade Clássicos 1300). After two podium-placed races, the driver won points for the championship, thanks to his dominance from start to finish.
On the day before the first race, he had already shown his skills, posting a time of 2.25.069 in free practice, so one observation became fact: Luís had come to win. The timed practice sessions took place the following Saturday morning as a pre-race warm-up. Once again, the driver did justice to his Datsun 1200, taking pole position, with the fastest lap at the iconic Vila Real circuit, in just 2.26.016. He was also first in the H 75 category. A good outlook, hours before it started for real.
Come the afternoon, the first race of the championship began. Once the traffic lights turned green, Luís sped off towards victory. Marked by a strong pace, the driver's performance made him cross the finish line in first place, where he was congratulated for the best overall classification, the first among the 1300 Classics, and for occupying the first position in the H 75 category. His fastest lap was 2.26.076.
On Sunday morning, the second challenge began, the "trial by fire”, where, once again, Luís Alegria was second to none. With a blazing start, he began way ahead of the others. And so it continued. His best lap was 2.23.087, a victory that, added to his first, led him to the trophy. With his pedal to the metal, Luís Alegria is now preparing for future adventures with his Datsun 1200, with Villas&Golfe occupying his plan, after a double success in Vila Real.
